Saving Money When You Go to Orlando

November 27, 2008 - 9:34 am - Posted by admin

When you travel to Orlando this year there are many ways you can save money if you are traveling during the holidays. One of the biggest ways you can save is by renting a car. Not only will you save a lot of money but you will have more fun being together with your family as you travel throughout the city. Many of the ways you will save include no buses, taxi fare, and more.

When you fly into Orlando you will need to find transportation to your hotel room. A taxi can be expensive, especially if you have a big family. Renting a car is the best solution because you will pick up your car rental at the airport and use it for the entire week. This will eliminate fees to and from the airport.

When you travel to your destinations throughout Orlando you will need to take a bus or take a taxi. Taking a bus will require you to pay for each individual person. Every place you go to will require you to pay for fare to get there. This can be extremely expensive. It will also cause you to not go to many different locations at all. When you rent a car for your vacation you will save money because you will only pay one fee for the car rental and for gas to get around. This is much cheaper than paying for every destination. However, you will not be limited on the destinations or places you will go. You will feel free on your vacation and not stuck because of the high costs.

When you travel to Orlando you will want to go on a tour to at least one destination. Tours are expensive because you have to pay for each individual to board the bus. The only benefit is that there is someone on the bus telling you about the history and the location. This is information you can look up online. When you rent a car you can travel throughout every destination you want to go to. You don’t have to limit yourself to just one tour. You can take your family touring through the city looking at the prelit Christmas trees decorated throughout the city. When Orlando decorates their artificial Christmas trees you will be amazed at the light displays. There are Christmas trees everywhere and you will be able to see them all.

A rental car will save you a lot of money when you travel to Orlando on vacation with the family this year. There is no reason to pay for each person in your family to go to certain places. You can save hundreds of dollars when you rent a car rather than pay different fares and fees throughout the vacation. You will have enough money so you can stay a day or two longer or you can even enjoy some of the fantastic shopping in Orlando also. When you rent a car you will also have a closer and more personal vacation with the family.

Tips for Your Orlando Vacation

June 13, 2008 - 4:59 pm - Posted by admin

Recently, one of my friends, who is learning how to become a US citizen while she pursues her citizenship, traveled with me to Orlando for brief vacation from her busy Internet marketing consultant business. We had a lot of fun, and we quickly learned some tips that might help any of you who are thinking of traveling to Orlando in the near future:

Look for all-inclusive vacation packages or vacation packages that combine accommodations, car rentals, and tickets. It’s easy to spend thousands of dollars when you buy everything individually, but you can often get a great deal by shopping around for packages. Packages also make it a lot easier to budget.

Look for online deals on everything from souvenirs to plane tickets. You can often buy everything at a discount if you’re willing to go online, often because you’re not paying for overhead at your travel agency or local souvenir shop.

Come prepared for the sun. No matter what time you’re traveling, Florida tends to get more sun than many other locations. If you’re used to overcast, cold, dark days, the sun may take you by surprise. Walking around during the day, especially, you may find yourself dehydrated, exhausted and sunburned. Always carry bottled water, sunblock, and a hat, so that you can stay safe from the sun. Spend at least part of the day — especially the hours closest to noon — inside or at least in a shady location.

Wear comfortable shoes. There’s a lot to see and do in Florida, and in Orlando one of the best ways to see the town is to walk. Whether you’re going to Disney world, downtown, or the beaches, you can expect to walk around in order to take everything in. Comfortable, broken-in shoes are the best way to go unless you like blisters.

Think layers. Although we were lucky that when we traveled because we didn’t get hit by any winds, rain, or other bad weather, Florida’s weather can be very variable. Bring along rainwear, a sweater, long pants, and some warmer clothes as well as your more summery clothing.

Carry snacks with you everywhere. Buy some snacks and keep them in your hotel room, backpack, or purse. It will save you from having to line up for cafes and diners, and will help you keep a lid on incidental expenses. Dining out in Florida can be expensive and time-consuming, so being able to grab a least one meal a day on the run is a big help.

Bring a small first-aid kit with you. It is often cheaper to have your own bandage rather than have to buy one – especially if you have to buy a band-aid at a souvenir store. Plus, you won’t waste a lot of time walking around trying to find a first-aid kit for a small cut.

Come prepared for crowds. There are a lot of people in Florida and even more people who arrive for attractions. You can expect lineups at parks and other tourist destinations, so bring your patience and your good manners.
